Recs Primed For Growth With Addition of Global CEO, Hunt Ramsbottom, to Its Board of Directors

Investor and Industry Veteran Joins Team at the Places Sharing Platform the World Needs Now

Portland, OR  (January 22, 2024) – Recs, an end-to-end platform that empowers users, businesses, and places to connect by making saving, sharing, and interacting with their favorite places seamless, announces today the addition of global investor and veteran CEO Hunt Ramsbottom to its Board of Directors.

Ramsbottom has more than 35 years of successful financial, strategic, and operations leadership in uniquely challenging situations across various industries. He previously served as CEO for multiple public and private companies including Thompson PBE, Whitehawk Media Group, Rentech, Rentech Nitrogen, and several others. Ramsbottom has raised more than $2.5 billion and led acquisitions of over 70 companies while driving organic growth. He is active in numerous community organizations, including more than 30 years with the Young Presidents’ Organization.

“I am honored to join forces with the incredibly impressive and driven Recs team. The Recs platform represents an entirely new paradigm the world desperately needs right now. Existing social and mapping technology platforms are focused on keeping users online and distracted, overlooking the essential need for humans to connect in real life. I’m very excited to help actively create a world where we spend less time online and more time in the company of people at places that matter most to us,” says Ramsbottom.

With its user base doubling every six weeks, Recs goes significantly beyond any other place- based app in the market, functioning as both a “places wallet” and sharing hub, optimizing what users love to do, when they want to go, and who they want to go with. Recs goes beyond basic reviews and allows users to expand their experiences through the trusted, positive recommendations of their own social network.

“Hunt brings significant expertise in managing and building companies to the table. I am honored that Hunt has joined our Board of Directors” says Jesse Berns, co-founder and CEO of Recs. “He recognizes the need for Recs, and that our new patterns of social interaction are largely being ignored by current social and mapping technology platforms. The world is experiencing a loneliness epidemic, despite us supposedly being more online than ever. Our goal is to reinvigorate our need for personal interaction. The technology behind Recs will get us there, humans will do the rest.”
